Core Stability Programmes
Gold Standard's Core Stability Sports Programme is a scientifically-based exercise plan, which aims to improve stabilisation and support to the spine and pelvis. To achieve this, specific trunk muscles (that are possibly being underused) are re-trained.
Once these stabilising muscles have been re-educated (thanks to a specific Strength and Conditioning programme), the muscles of the arms and legs will have a much more stable base to work from. This in turn allows a sportsperson to carry out arm and leg movements with greater control, which shall improve the quality of their sporting movements as well as enhancing their ability to run, jump, strike a ball, kick a ball etc.
The completion of this programme will not only improve an athlete's muscular co-ordination but will enable one to perform sporting movements without technique deteriorating excessively due to fatigue. Furthermore, it will improve one's ability to hold off opponents in contact sports such as Hurling, Gaelic Football, Rugby and Soccer alongside helping to reduce the risk of one suffering future back injuries.
