Perfomance Science

Performance Science is a discipline that studies the application of scientific principles and techniques with the aim of promoting and enhancing sporting performance, physical health and well-being. Incorporating areas of physiology, motor control, biomechanics and psychology, Performance Science also encompasses topics such as sports technology, performance analysis, nutrition, anthropometry and kinanthropometry.

Thanks to the analysis of such fields, researchers have developed a much greater understanding with respect to how the human body reacts to exercise, training, different environments and many other stimuli. Performance Science can be applied across a host of disciplines, ranging from adolescents to elite athletes to specific disease populations.

As Gold Standard's Sport and Exercise Science offerings are personalised to cater for each individual client's specific needs, all ages and abilities are cared for by the practice.
