Acupuncture
After fully assessing one's condition, our Chartered Physiotherapists may consider acupuncture as an appropriate treatment method to help achieve a reduction in pain and a restoration of function. Originating in China, acupuncture is an alternative medicine methodology that treats patients by manipulating thin, solid needles that have been inserted into acupuncture points in the skin.
Helping to relieve the symptoms of a number of physical and psychological conditions (such as migraines, neck disorders and osteoarthritis), acupuncture aims to help the body to heal naturally. Particularly useful in relation to both acute injuries and chronic conditions that are resilient to other treatments, acupuncture also has the advantage of having few negative side effects.
Using only needles that are suited to each individual patient's condition and body shape, Gold Standard's experienced and considerate Chartered Physiotherapists promise little more than a small pin-prick will be felt, with most patients comparing the sensations experienced to a mild tingling.
