Manipulation & Mobilisation Therapy
B ased upon an expert understanding of Anatomy and Physiology, Manipulation and Mobilisation Therapy involves the skilful restoration of mobility to soft tissues and joints. A Core Chartered Physiotherapy skill, Manipulation involves high speed movements, which are typically performed on the neck and/or back. On the other hand, Mobilisation is a slower, gentler movement that's performed on joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves.
As a technique, Mobilisation can be varied in intensity from very gentle to very deep. Manipulation and Mobilisation Therapy ultimately aims to re-balance the musculoskeletal system. The clinical benefits of such include the relief of musculoskeletal pain, a shortened recovery period and an increase in range of motion. When required, Gold Standard's expert Chartered Physiotherapists use this type of therapy as part of a patient's overall treatment.
