Flexibility Programmes
Flexibility refers to the absolute range of movement in a joint or series of joints, and length in muscles that cross the joints. Flexibility in some joints can be increased by exercise, with stretching a common exercise component to maintain or improve flexibility.
It is important that one's flexibility does not diminish, as such can be a predisposing factor for physical problems including pain syndromes and balance disorders. As one's quality of life can be enhanced by improving and maintaining a good range of motion in the joints, Gold Standard provide individualised Flexibility Programmes (that take gender, age, condition and genetics into account).
Amongst the types of Flexibility Programmes the practice devises are ones to reduce pain and stiffness, ones to improve strength and flexibility, and ones to aid a return to sport. Appreciating that individual joints vary from one person to another, these plans always keep specific joint range of motions in mind.
